Used for centuries by Russian strongmen to build endurance, strength, balance and flexibility, the kettlebell workout combines cardio and strength into one kick butt workout! You can burn up to 2X the number of calories you would in a normal workout giving you the ability to burn up to 800 calories in just 45 minutes! According to a study done by ACE, you can expect to burn about 20 calories per minute when performing full body kettlebell exercises. For anyone looking to get their strength training and cardio done in a short amount of time, kettlebells are for you!
Our two hour mandatory Introduction to Kettlebell Workshop is designed to maximize kettlebell training for our members. Along with learning proper stance, form, breathing and other techniques, this workshop will build a foundation of familiarity with the kettlebell which will allow you to hit the ground running in your kettlebell classes. You will leave this workshop knowing the basics. You will know which size bell to grab, and exactly what to do when the instructor calls for a swing, a windmill, or a grinding press and most importantly how a proper lift feels. This knowlege virtually guarantees a better, safer, more successful experience for every member.
*For those who have had some experience with kettlebells, you will be required to demonstrate proficiency and proper form to the instructor before attending a regular kettlebell class.
