The 5 Commandments of Injury Rehab

  1. Active recovery - Training for endurance races and races in general takes discipline. After the race, you need to recover physically and mentally. Stay active in between training bouts with our group fitness classes.
  2. Try something new - Run. Bike. Swim. When the race is over, try something that you haven't done before like an interval training class or a core conditioning class.
  3. Heal thyself - There is more to injury prevention then resting once a week. You need to improve your flexbility and balance. Try a yoga class or learn self-myofacial release in our Foam Roller Workshops.
  4. Take time to stretch - Improving your flexibility will allow your muscle to recover faster which allows you to make more progress. But stretching alone isn't enough. If you haven't tried a foam roller yet - make a point to.
  5. Improve your weakness - a strong core is the most imporant part of the foundation of all athletes. Where does your rank? Try a core class today!

Core Conditioning: This class was designed to keep runners and athletes of all kinds off the injured list. You will work your entire body in this lower impact class. But be prepared to sweat! We use stability balls to create an unstable environment to improve your balance and stability muscles of your legs, core and upper body.

 

Interval Training: During the off season or once a week work agility and speed. Our interval classes are full body workouts that will train your entire body, including strengthening your core!

 

Yoga: Our weekly yoga class is for athletes of all levels and is designed with the inflexible beginner in mind.

 

Foam Roller Workshops The class is FREE if you have your own foam roller, or $50 if you want to pre-order a high quality 3' foam roller from us. You can borrow a roller from the studio for $10. We offer this once a month and you will learn how to work your muscle tissue to keep it pliable and prevent injuries.
